Another favorite roundup

Because I have been AFK for like two days. Sorry guys! I'm probably suffering from my typical lack of motivation, that cold air that blows through the cracks of your window and keeps you in bed an extra hour; otherwise known as my never-ending love of starting a project and jumping off it. But here we go, let's do this.

Books: Ticktock, by Dean Koontz: A lot of people compare Koontz and King when they're talking about the masters of horror, with King always being a few pages ahead. Ticktock is the story of a Vietnamese-American named Tommy who is besieged by malignant forces represented by a voodoo doll left on his doorstep. Unsurprisingly, the story is far more entertaining than thought-provoking, but leaves you with a sense of satisfaction as you come to the conclusion. Definitely worth a read.

Movies: Inception: Last night was the first time I saw Inception. I was afraid to watch it, because I like Leo, Joey and Ellen, and didn't want to tarnish my love of her-them, I mean, if it was horrible. Thankfully, it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. The deepness of the movie was more literal than I had been led to believe and the complexity really only appeared if you weren't paying attention, but godDAMN can Christopher Nolan do atmosphere and character building. If you haven't seen this, watch it, and if you saw it, watch it again.

Music: Bloodhound Gang: Most people, surprisingly, do not know of the Bloodhound Gang until you say, "You and me baby, ain't nothin' but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel," at which point they go "Ohhhhhhh, that song!" An extremely underrated band, frontman Jimmy Pop is a lyrical mastermind, with rhymes rivaling the skill of the oldschool crews they draw influence from; and the comedic timing Jimmy Pop possesses is one that could only be gained through years of not giving a shit. In all seriousness, the Bloodhound Gang is one top notch band whose only flaw is their often childish humor, but made up for by Jimmy Pop's encyclopedic knowledge of puns.
